Australian Competitions Anyone recommend House Insurance Company ?

I have claimed a laptop a tennis raquet and ipod all with my personal insurence with Alliance and they were incredibly quick, the ipod I only had to fax something to prove I owned one so I faxed the cord and the box and I got a call from JB HiFi the next day organising my new one. As far as price I have been with them for so long now I could very well be paying to much I wouldn't know. If your old enough go Apia my parnts and parents inlaws are with them and they are on the ball really quick with claims and cheaper. Budget direct check on all the claims you have done in the past 15 years... My sister had them for car insurance , had her first smash and they wanted to see a 15 year driving history before they paid her cheaply out!!!!!!!!! on her 4 yearold car..with 35000 on the clock. she only had 1 speeding ticket in 1998, but i would keep away from them..... We were with Vero, we made a claim on our shed being broken into while we were on our honeymoon, but we didn't realize it had been broken into until 6 months later and Vero let us claim everything without any hassle.... our insurance broker changed us to GIO and my car was broken into (in our garage) and 2 gold bracelets were stolen, GIO wanted proof I had them (I was lucky to find a photo of me wearing them) and they also wanted receipts, which I didn't have as I'd had them well over 10 years, in the end they didn't give me what they were worth, but I did get something.. thank goodness! We are now with SUNCORP who during the floods seemed to be one of the better companies, please remember when a disaster happens it is not how much you have paid for your insurance but what they will cover, how fast and how compassionately your insurance company acts that really counts. READ THE DIFFERENT POLICIES THOUROUGHLY BEFORE MAKING A DESCISION They are about the same price as racq insurance. But? we had a shed fire. They replaced 10,000 worth of contents.
