Motorists are having to pay different amounts for their car insurance according to which area they live in.
Residents in the bustling suburb of Swords are being asked to cough up more than those in Blackrock.
A survey of insurance quotes provided by Quinn Direct has revealed that its rates vary between Dublin suburbs.
The revelations follow a Herald investigation which found that Quinn Direct will not provide quotes for residents living in Tallaght and Clondalkin.
Postcode
Michael Burns (33) from Tallaght was informed by the second largest insurance company in the country, that they would not quote for his postcode due to an increase in claims.
Now it has emerged that there is a significant disparity between the prices quoted to residents of different Dublin areas.
A motorist living in Ballyfermot has been quoted €370.01 and someone living in Swords was asked for €371.28 for a standard motor policy. However, a person who resides in the leafy suburb of Blackrock with an identical car and driving history was quoted a rate of €350.20. Someone living in the city centre location of Smithfield was asked to pay €350.20, while a resident from Monkstown was quoted €398.47 for a similar policy.

The death has taken place of the well-known broadcaster and journalist Cathal O'Shannon. Mr O'Shannon, who was 83, died at the Beacon Hospital in Dublin.
The director general of RTE, Noel Curran, said last night: "Cathal's contribution to RTE Television included some of the great moments in the RTE documentary and factual schedule over the past five decades."
His seminal piece was by his own and many others' reckoning Even The Olives Are Bleeding, in 1976, capturing both the Irish experience in the Spanish Civil War and the broader nature of that very bitter conflict. He was predeceased by his wife Patsy Dyke. See Obituary, Page 33
