I am an MD, and with all due respect, unless the GOP gets SERIOUS about repealing/defunding Obamacare, this is all fantasy land. Might as well discuss the finer points of unicorn horns. Repeal and replace won't work either. It's repeal, repeal, repeal. THEN, after legitimate insight into health care costs, rational, functioning decisions can be made.
Mr. Price, what you don't see are the number of MDs who are planning to drastically scale back or retire. The damage has already been done. Now it's a manner of magnitude and breadth. A neurologist at my hospital who just finished medical training 3 years ago is going to open a micro-brewery with the intent of leaving medicine. The general surgeons aren't going to take ER call, the cardiologists won;t see hospitalized patients, etc etc etc.
There is NO point in discussing health care options until YOUR party gets the intestinal fortitude, something I haven't seen out of the GOP since Reagan, to remove Obamacare. Call me skeptical at best.
